Mark Millar Talks ‘Wanted 2′

The comic-to-feature adaptation of Wanted was an unqualified hit at the box office, and a ton of fun to watch to boot (if one ignored the gaping lapses in logic…and physics). With Universal Pictures, director Timur Bekmambetov and Angelina Jolie all set for another round, the anticipated sequel is well into development,  but just exactly what can fans expect?

In a new video interview with IGN, Wanted creator Mark Millar says that the project isn’t quite fully percolated yet. Millar says that they “almost have a good script,” and expects shooting to begin soon, whenever “soon” is. So what did Millar give up about the story for the second installment? The filmmakers are going back to the book to incorporate the idea of other fraternities of assassins around the world.

The sequel will pick up immediately where the first film left off, with Wesley Gibson [James McAvoy] on the run from the other five fraternities’ assassins after he destroyed the U.S. fraternity and its magic quilt.
